1 – Priest First Meeting
2 – Battlefields
3 – Priest Second Meeting

Background

You’ll receive this quest from a Priest of Eternal Fire on the road west of Mulbrydale in Velen North (#1).

Walkthrough

The priest will tell you that necrophages have started feeding on the corpses from three nearby battlefields (#2), and he’ll ask you to incinerate the corpses to end the threat. To help you out, he’ll give you some Holy Oil.

At each battlefield, you’ll either encounter a few ghouls or a rotfiend. You’ll also find a pile of corpses to light on fire. To start the fires, you’ll first have to douse the corpses with oil, and then you’ll have to use the Igni sign on them. This will earn you 10 xp for each fire.

But interestingly, at one of the battlefields you’ll meet a Fisstech dealer named Titus Gielas. He’ll tell you that he was doing business with the Priest of Eternal Fire — until the priest’s men came at him with knives and dumped him at a battlefield expecting the ghouls to finish him off.

With this information in hand, when you return to the priest (now located far north of Mulbrydale at #3), you’ll have two ways to proceed:

  • You can accept a bribe to keep quiet about the matter. You’ll earn 60 crowns and 50 xp.
  • You can hold the priest accountable. The priest and his guards will attack you, but they’ll start out bunched together, just begging for an Igni. When you finish them off, you’ll earn 50 xp, and you’ll find 200 crowns on the corpse of the priest.
