Missing in Action – Witcher 3 Quest

You’ll receive this quest from Dune in the ransacked village near White Orchard (#1).

Walkthrough

Dune will tell you that his brother Bastien went missing during the battle at Willoughby, and that when he tried to look for him — or, more likely, his body — he was attacked by ghouls and barely escaped. So he’ll ask you to come with him to the battlefield so he can search while you’re protecting him.

When you meet Dune in front of the battlefield (#2), he’ll have his brother’s dog Hussar with him. He’ll ask you to look for a shield with a flower on it, since that designates all of the recruits — including Bastien — who came from White Orchard. To find the shield, you’ll have to use your Witcher senses. You’ll also have to deal with a few ghouls.

You’ll find four flower shields in the part of the battlefield indicated by the quest. When you locate the right one (#3), Hussar will pick up Bastien’s scent and start running to him. You’ll find Bastien with a Nilfgaardian soldier named Rhosyn in a shack (#4). Bastien will tell you that he only survived because of Rhosyn.

This will give you two ways to complete the quest. You can convince Dune to take his brother home alone, or you can convince him to take both soldiers. Either way you’ll earn 25 xp for completing the quest.
