Novigrad, Closed City – Witcher 3 Quest

This guide is a walkthrough of a side quest in the Witcher 3 for the area of Novigrad. The guide is composed of a map, map legend, and walkthrough to show readers exactly where to go and what to do to complete the quest.

Background

This quest will become available after you’ve completed the quest A Matter of Life and Death in Novigrad. You’ll meet three bandits during the quest, each being pursued by witch hunters. To trigger the quest, you’ll have to meet one of the bandits and read a document associated with them (see below).

Walkthrough

The three bandits in the quest are listed below:

• Walter (#1). When you spot him, he’ll be banging on a door trying to get away from two witch hunters. If Walter survives the encounter, then he’ll give you a Key. Otherwise, you’ll have to loot it from his corpse. If you kill the witch hunters, then they’ll drop a Warrant, and reading the Warrant will trigger the quest.
  
• Fritz (#2). You’ll find him in a house, but you’ll be too late to save him from the witch hunters; he’ll already be dead. You won’t find anything on his corpse, but if you go upstairs and light the torch by the staircase, then you’ll open a secret door, behind which you’ll find a Key, a Letter About Treasure, and a locked cabinet. Reading the letter will trigger the quest.
  
• Lussi (#3). You’ll meet her on the bridge leading to Temple Isle. She’ll tell you that her house is haunted, and she’ll ask you to help her. However, when you reach her house (#4), you’ll discover two witch hunters there waiting for her. After the battle, Lussi will admit that she tricked you into killing the hunters for her, but she’ll give you her Key. You’ll also find Warrants on the corpses of the hunters. Reading a Warrant will trigger the quest.

After picking up the three Keys from the bandits, you’ll just need to return to Fritz’s house (#2) and use the keys to unlock the cabinet in the secret room. Inside you’ll find some random crafting supplies plus Glowing Ore.
