Treasure Hunt: The Things Men Do for Coin… – Witcher 3 Quest

You’ll trigger this quest in Velen North when you loot a corpse carrying a Letter and a Treasure Key (#1).

Walkthrough

When you read the Letter, you’ll discover that the corpse was a scavenger who had been looting dead refugees in the area. But since you didn’t find any treasure on him, you’ll decide that he must have hidden his ill-gotten gains somewhere close by. If you turn on your witcher senses, then you’ll be able to follow the scavenger’s footsteps to a big pile of corpses to the south — where you’ll encounter several nekkers. After defeating the nekkers, you’ll find a locked container by the pile. It’ll have random loot inside.

Note: This quest is rated level 12, but you can easily do it around level 5, provided you don’t try to fight all of the nekkers at once.
