Overview

1 – Geo Marker

This geo marker will add Moonrise to your Quick Travel menu.

2 – Merryweather Spirits

Inside this tavern you’ll meet Shelta Marie, the proprietor. She’ll sell you general supplies, she’ll rent you a room (#5) for 30 gp a night, and after asking her about the Blackened Bone tavern, she’ll give you the quest The Sealed Letter. You’ll also meet a patron in the tavern who will give you the quest The Missing Magpie.

3 – Well

4 – Strongarm Gear

Inside this shop you’ll meet the blacksmith Kirk Strongarm. He’ll sell you weapons and armor, and he’ll train you in Heavy Armor, Light Armor, and Shields.

5 – Guest Room

6 – Fairy Dust and Moonbeams

Inside this shop you’ll meet Mitza, who will sell you magical items and also give you the quest A Tough Nut to Crack.

7 – House

There isn’t anything special about this house, but if you pick open the lock on the back door, then you’ll be able to reach the secret area in the cemetery (#11).

8 – Dry Well

You’ll find 100 gp or more in this well.

9 – Temple of Rai

You’ll meet Shepherd Nicholas in this temple. He’ll act as a healer, and he’ll give you the side quest The Curious Case of Edgar. There is also a secret door in the back wall of the temple, which will allow you to reach the staircase leading down into the Moonrise Underground (Exit A). To open the secret door, you’ll either need to turn the headstone in the cemetery (#11), or you’ll need to complete the quest Baptism in Fire.

10 – Green Ceramic Jar

Inside this jar you’ll find an Elixir of Cure Ailment, Willow Bark, and Wormleaf.

11 – Cemetery

The cemetery is a secret area. You’ll only be able to reach it by picking open the back door of a nearby house (#7). Inside the cemetery, if you turn one of the headstones, then you’ll open up the secret door in the Temple of Rai (#9).

12 – Giant Clam with Pearl

13 – Secret Area

You can reach this secret area via a path starting in the Baasilt Dunes and going through the Southern Boglands. Inside the secret area, you’ll find a trapped and locked random chest, two random barrels, a giant clam with a Pearl inside, and a red ceramic jar containing some gp. You’ll need ten Pearls for the quest A String of Pearls.

14 – Strange Chest

When you open this chest, you’ll see on an engraved plate that “the contents of this chest belong to you.” However, you won’t find anything inside the chest. We’re not sure if there’s something broken with the chest, or if it’s meant for future expansions / mods.

15 – Secret Area

You’ll only be able to reach this secret area via the Western Astral Range. Once you reach the secret area, you’ll find a giant clam with a Large Diamond inside.

16 – Guest Room

17 – Cabinet

Inside the cabinet here, you’ll find a copy of The Snows of May, which might help you in the quest The Meaning of the Note.

18 – Blackened Bone Tavern

Inside this tavern you’ll meet Dannia. She’ll rent you a room (#15) for 35 gp a night, and she’ll sell you general items. Dannia is also involved in the main quests The Blackened Bone Tavern, A King’s Head, and Finding Another Way.

19 – Geo Marker

This geo marker will add Old Moonrise to your Quick Travel menu.

20 – Pike’s Head Weaponcrafts

Shrock the blacksmith will sell you weapons and armor. He’ll also train you in Bludgeoning Weapons, Cleaving Weapons, and Swords — but only after you’ve acquired a Deadly Skills Permit. You can buy a permit from Dannia in the Blackened Bone Tavern (#18) for 500 gp, or you can complete Shrock’s quest Cleaning up the Riff Raff to get one.

To enter the locked chamber with Shrock’s chest, you’ll just need to pull the lever next to the forge. Shrock didn’t mind when we did this. The chest is random and of high quality, but it’s also trapped and locked.

21 – The Dark and Dreadful

Inside this shop you’ll meet Valx Grayraven, who will sell you magical items and give you the quest The Teeth that Bite. After completing the quest, Valx will become a trainer for Elemental Magick. Nothing will come of asking Valx about the orrery behind his shop.

22 – Red Ceramic Jar

This jar is always empty, so don’t bother blowing it up.

23 – The Lucky Dice

Inside this closed establishment, you’ll meet Lucky, the former proprietor. If you say the right things to him, then he’ll offer you a double-or-nothing bet. Regardless of whether you win or lose, you’ll only be able to make this bet once, so save up a nice nest egg of money before visiting Lucky, and of course save your game before betting.

To bet with Lucky, you’ll need a pair of Goblin Dice, which you can usually find for sale in Merryweather Spirits (#2) and the Blackened Bone Tavern (#18). If you win your bet, then Lucky will pay you — but then attack you to get his money back. Lucky is much tougher than a regular NPC (he has 350 hit points), so you’ll need to be ready for the fight. Killing Lucky will net you 800 xp. If you lose your bet, then Lucky will take your money and disappear out the window, and you’ll never see him again.

You’ll also discover a trapped and locked chest in the far corner of the establishment. Inside you’ll find five pieces of Spider Silk and a few gp.
