City of Heroes Issue 13 Review

After giving NCsoft’s Issue 13: Power and Responsibility update for City of Heroes a spin, Boomtown brings us a full review. 8/10 is the overall score, with these final words:

One final nice touch is the new level pact system that makes sure that two players always stay on the same level and receive the same amount of XP no matter what they do. That even works while one of the players is offline or is on a different team. For players who always team up or couples this system works like a charm.

The release was much smoother, than Issue 12, too, with very few disturbing bugs. The servers have been a bit more unstable than usual but it’s not clear whether that’s due to the latest issue. Thus Issue 13 has been a very solid release giving the player base many requested features including things that used to go under the “impossible to do” category. However, it’s not as ground-breaking as for example Issue 9 was and thus it ends up with a very solid 8 as the final score and the player base will hold NCsoft up to its promise of a speedy Issue 14 release, too.
